Injured Bellingham likely to miss England's Nations League double-header | England

Jude Bellingham will be out for some time due to injury and could miss the start of England's Nations League season.

The Real Madrid midfielder has sustained a leg injury and reports from Spain suggest that the 21-year-old will not be available until after the international break.

A statement from the Spanish club on Friday said: “Following the tests carried out today by Real Madrid's medical team on Jude Bellingham, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantar fasciitis muscle in his right leg. His progress will be monitored.”

“[Bellingham] “I took a hit,” said coach Carlo Ancelotti at a press conference on Friday. “We are investigating.”

Real host Real Valladolid on Sunday and also have La Liga games against Las Palmas and Real Betis before the international break. England begin their Nations League campaign under caretaker coach Lee Carsley away to the Republic of Ireland on September 7 before hosting Finland at Wembley three days later.
