Durham police charge 18-year-old with murder of teenager in 2023

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) – Durham police investigators said Friday that an arrest had been made in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy in 2023.

The DPD arrested an 18-year-old man and charged him with murder for shooting the teenager in the 1100 block of Ridgeway Avenue on October 4.

The teenage victim later died in hospital.

The suspect was charged with premeditated murder by a juvenile court order. His name will not be disclosed, the DPD said.

He was arrested on Thursday evening and taken into security custody.
