2 men arrested after minor accident that leads to shootout between passengers

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) – Spartanburg police said two men were arrested after a minor accident turned into a shootout between passengers.

According to police, the incident occurred on August 18 in the parking lot of the Spinx convenience store at 1507 WO Ezell Blvd.

According to police, a gray sedan backed out of a parking space and scratched a red SUV. After a man in the gray sedan struck the driver of the red SUV, a shootout broke out between the two passengers, police said.

After an investigation, the two men were identified as Devin Lee Linder and Isaiah Stephen Wilks.

Officers said Wilks, who was sitting in the gray sedan, fired several shots at the occupied red SUV, after which Linder fired back at Wilks from the SUV.

Linder was shot in the wrist and was accused of pointing and brandishing a firearm at a person.

Wilks was charged with discharging a weapon into a vehicle while driving, aggravated public disturbance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
