“As the victim was driving his vehicle behind a blue Chevrolet Camaro, an incident occurred between both vehicles at the above location,” the statement said. “The offender, later identified as Sandy Thomas, pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the victim.”

The victim then called 911 and gave a description of the suspect and his car.

“Sheriff's Aviation responded and located the vehicle parked in the 16100 block of Stoneridge Drive in Fontana,” officials said.

When Thomas was arrested, units from the California Highway Patrol, Fontana Police Department and SBSD were on scene executing a search warrant on the two-story home where he was located.

During their search, investigators discovered a black semi-automatic pistol, a pistol-grip shotgun, ammunition and a loaded magazine, the statement said.

Thomas was taken to the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact the Fontana Sheriff's Office.
