Georgetown County man arrested and charged with methamphetamine trafficking

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – The Georgetown Sheriff's Office says a man was arrested and charged following a joint investigation by the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations.

Shyheim Gardner, 29, was charged on Friday with distribution of commercial quantities of methamphetamine.

Officers executed a search warrant for his home and found approximately 846 grams of fentanyl, cash and a loaded handgun with ammunition.

According to Sheriff Carter Weaver, charges will be filed for fentanyl trafficking and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Gardner was taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center.
