Leonard Floyd leaves 49ers vs. Raiders preseason game due to knee injury – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

The 49ers lost one of their most important defensive players early Friday in their final game of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.

Veteran defensive end Lenoard Floyd left the game in the first quarter after 49ers defensive tackle Maliek Collins apparently fell on his right leg.

Floyd initially needed assistance to leave the field, but was eventually able to leave under his own power.

The 49ers announced that Floyd suffered a knee injury and is questionable about his return. San Francisco also announced that defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos is questionable because of a knee injury.

The 49ers signed Floyd for two years and $20 million in the offseason to find an effective counterpart to star pass rusher Nick Bosa.

Now they are holding their breath and hoping that the 31-year-old has not suffered a long-term injury two weeks before the start of the 2024 NFL season.
