Are you having problems with today's solutions? We can help you

NYT Strand's response: Are you bored of the same old Wordle? The New York Times has just released Strands, a new word puzzle that will put your vocabulary to the test. Unlike Wordle, Strands requires you to find six to eight words hidden in a jumbled grid of letters, all connected by a single theme. The NYT's user-friendly design keeps the game casual, but don't be fooled – it'll really challenge your brain.

Edited by Tracy Bennett, the same curator as Wordle, a new Strands game can be accessed every day in the Games section of the NYT website.

NYT Strands: How to play

You start with a 6×8 grid with 54 letters. You must select a string of letters that you think forms a word.

These words are not random, but are based on a topic of the day. This topic is displayed in a box labeled “Today's Topic” on the left side of the screen.

Based on this theme, you need to identify six to eight words every day.

Now there is a fun element called Spangram. This is a hidden theme that is only revealed when you find all six words.

Why Spangram, you ask? Well, the word stretches across the entire grid. Add “span” to “anagram,” and voilà! You get Spangram.
