MUST SEE: Massive crash for Logan Sargeant in FP3 at Zandvoort, his improved Williams catches fire

Logan Sargeant triggered the red flag in the third free practice session for the Dutch Grand Prix with a violent crash into the barriers at Turn 4. The impact caused his Williams FW46 to catch fire – fortunately the American driver was uninjured in the accident.

Sargeant entered the Dutch Grand Prix weekend with a dark cloud after learning that he would be replaced by Carlos Sainz at Williams in 2025.

But his mood was not improved when, in damp conditions, he apparently stumbled onto the grass at the exit of the third corner at Zandvoort and spun his Williams into the barriers – a doubly painful impact for the team as the car was equipped with a host of improved parts.

“I'm fine,” Sargeant reported gratefully over the team radio – before his Williams team urged him to leave the cockpit as quickly as possible, as television images showed that the rear of the car was catching fire.
