Orlando Duran dies after shooting on Chicago's DuSable Lake Shore Drive at Oak Street curve near Gold Coast, officials say

CHICAGO (WLS) — A man died Wednesday evening from a gunshot wound on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, officials said.

Chicago police said the shooting occurred around 9:19 p.m. on the curve of Oak Street near the Gold Coast neighborhood.

A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were driving north in a car when a light-colored sedan stopped and someone inside fired shots, police said.

The man who was shot in the head was taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, where he later died. The Cook County Coroner's Office later identified him as Orlando Duran.

The woman who was shot in the left calf was taken to the same hospital, police said.

The shooter fled the scene in the limousine.

No one was arrested. Chicago police are investigating.
