Two people arrested after fentanyl and meth were seized during traffic stop in Fond du Lac County

FOND DU LAC (WLUK) — Two men were arrested after fentanyl and methamphetamine were discovered during a traffic stop in Fond du Lac County.

It happened in the early morning hours of July 25, according to a Facebook post from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office on Friday.

According to authorities, an officer observed a vehicle traveling significantly slower than the speed limit on I-41. The officer conducted a registration check and learned that the owner of the vehicle had a suspended license.

The traffic stop eventually turned into a drug investigation, as a result of which approximately 230 grams of methamphetamine and 30 grams of fentanyl were confiscated.

A 39-year-old man from Phillips was driving the vehicle. His passenger was a 30-year-old man from Appleton.

Both men have previously been convicted of drug offenses and were on probation at the time of the traffic stop.

Both were charged with possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl with intent to resell, with modifications for repeat offenses. Due to these new charges, bail was set at $10,000 for both men.

The FDLCSO post said the Phillips man is “now in jail” and the Appleton man is in custody at the Fond du Lac County Jail.
