CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was found shot to death in South Chicago on Friday night.

Police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter call in the 7900 block of South Phillips Avenue shortly after 11 p.m.

The victim, aged between 35 and 40, was found with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

The Chicago Fire Department arrived to treat the victim, who died at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

As of Saturday, no arrests had been made. Detectives from Area 2 were investigating.
