1 dead in shooting near Davenport Skybridge

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Davenport Police confirmed one person is dead following a shooting near the Skybridge early Saturday.

At around 12:30 a.m., police received a report of shots fired and found a man in the parking lot next to the Skybridge who appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds.

When TV6 crews arrived at the scene, patrol cars were parked in the parking lot next to Davenport's Skybridge. The parking lot was cordoned off with crime scene tape as officers and crime scene teams prepared for the investigation.

While police investigated the shooting, they closed River Drive between Harrison Street and Brady Street.

At one point, an officer across the street from the main crime scene used a flashlight to search for evidence in the basement of the Figge Art Museum.
