17-year-old suffers serious injuries in accident west of Old Pattonsburg

A 17-year-old boy from Weatherby, Missouri, suffered serious injuries in a one-car crash on Route D, about five miles west of Old Pattonsburg, Missouri, Saturday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:33 a.m. as the teen was driving a 2006 GMC Canyon north on Route D. According to the accident report, the driver failed to negotiate a left turn, causing the vehicle to veer off the east side of the roadway and roll over. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover.

The GMC Canyon was wrecked in the accident and towed from the scene by Scotty's. The teenager suffered serious injuries and was transported by DeKalb Clinton Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Troopers MS Cline and NA Regan.
