How Go Min-si's new K-drama differs from Sweet Home

The Frog is a dark thriller with many twists

Go Min-si in The Frog and the Sweet Home

Go Min-si’s latest Netflix K-drama is very different from Sweet homealthough both can be described as horror shows. The Frog is more of a psychological horroras it plays on suspense and leaves viewers wondering what is real and what isn't. The show has many unreliable narrators, including Seong-a, to the point that things don't really make sense until the end. The Frog jumps back and forth between 2001 and 2024, using its non-linear narrative to highlight the parallels between the two stories. Sweet homeis, however, a rather fantastic show.

Between monsters and curses, Sweet home can hardly be called a realistic K-drama. Although the series, directed by Song Kand, contains a lot of violence, it is nevertheless set in a fantastic universe in which even a resurrection seems possible. That is, The Frog is also quite violent and contains some gruesome scenes which are probably more disturbing than anything else in Sweet home. Go Min-si's character in The Frog couldn't be more different from Eun-yu, with the latter coming across as a cold, vengeful person who will do anything to get what she wants.

Go Min-si has made two great appearances in the 2024 K-dramas

Sweet Home 3 and the Frog were both great

Cha Hyun-su and Lee Eun-yu from “Sweet Home” look at each other.

Between Sweet Home 3 And The FrogGo Min-si had a great year in 2024. Sweet homeThe final season of thankfully focused more on the Green Home survivors than the new characters at the stadium, which meant Eun-yu had more to do. She also interacted a lot with Song Kang's Cha Hyun-su and Lee Do-hyun's Lee Eun-hyeok after being separated from them for a year. The interactions between Eun-yu, Hyun-su and Eun-hyeok were arguably the best part of Sweet home but were missing in season 2. Eun-Yu became a neo-human in the finale, but in the hope of learning to have feelings again.

Sweet home
Seasons 2 and 3 were filmed directly one after the other.

In The FrogGo Min-si gets to play a very complex character whose actions are practically impossible to understand. Seong-a doesn't seem to have any good qualities as the character seems evil and threatening at every moment. The Frog is already a standout event in Go Min-si's career. Although he has appeared in great shows like Love alarm And Youth in Mayshe had never played such a complex character as Seong-a. The fact that The Frog fell shortly after Sweet Home 3 highlights Go Min-si's range with two radically different roles released back to back on Netflix.
