Four people, including a police officer, were injured in an accident and suspected knife attacks in Engadine in southern Sydney

Four people, including a police officer, were injured in a car crash and suspected stabbing in Engadine, southern Sydney.

Police said several emergency calls were received at the emergency services following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Princes Highway and Old Bush Road at around 9am.

Frightened witnesses described a man in a bloodstained shirt banging on their car windows.

A witness who wished to remain anonymous told ABC he saw the man get out of the car and yell: “I'm going to kill you.”

“When the police came, he was running down the street screaming. They shot him with the Taser right on the sidewalk, but he didn't even seem to touch the sides, he just kept running,” he said.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had apparently been stabbed and was reportedly fleeing the scene.

When the man was arrested, the police used a taser.

A male police officer suffered an injury to his left wrist during the arrest, police said.

Cellphone footage obtained by ABC shows the man running away from the crime scene, pursued by police.

In another video, he is pushed to the ground during his arrest.

A woman told ABC that her boyfriend rushed to the scene of the accident with a first aid kit and was threatened by the man.
