Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo has sentenced eleven people to prison for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Starlin Kumaichi, who pleaded guilty to a fourth count of driving under the influence, was sentenced to one year in prison, but all but 90 days of the sentence were suspended. Kumaichi was given 24 hours of credit for time already served and was ordered to report to the Department of Corrections by 5 p.m. on Sept. 1. He will be released by 5 p.m. on Nov. 29.

Judge Govendo sentenced Kumaichi to a fine of $1,000 and suspended his driver's license for six months. After serving his prison sentence, Kumaichi will also be sentenced to two years' probation and must perform 120 hours of community service. He will also be required to pay court and probation costs of $265.

Abigail Ruben, convicted for driving under the influence for the first time, will spend three days in jail and receive 12 hours of credit for time already served. She was ordered to report to jail at 6 p.m. on Sept. 6 and will be released at 6 a.m. on Sept. 9. She must pay a $500 fine and have her driver's license suspended for 30 days. Ruben is also sentenced to one year of probation and must perform 40 hours of community service. She must pay a $145 court and probation fee.

Dean Anthony Borja, convicted of his second DUI, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and given 24 hours credit for time already served. He was ordered to report to the Department of Corrections at 8 a.m. on September 9 and will be released at 8 a.m. on October 19. Borja must also pay a $1,000 fine and have his driver's license suspended for six months. He was sentenced to two years' probation and must perform 60 hours of community service. In addition, Borja was ordered to pay a $265 court and probation fee.

Ronnie Sofla will spend four days in jail for his first conviction for driving under the influence. He will receive 12 hours credit for time already served. Sofla was ordered to report to jail at 6 p.m. on August 31. He will be released at 6 a.m. on September 4. He will be fined $500 and his license will be suspended for 30 days. Sofla will be sentenced to one year of probation and must perform 40 hours of community service. He will be required to pay a $145 probation and court fee.

Judge Govendo ordered Henry Bao Yu to serve 10 days in jail for his first conviction of driving under the influence of alcohol, with 24 hours credit for time already served. Yu was ordered to report to jail on August 19 and will be released at 8 a.m. on August 27.

The court sentenced him to a $2,500 fine and a 30-day suspension of his driver's license. Yu will not be released on parole but must pay a $25 court fee.

Gyles Reluked pleaded guilty to driving under the influence for a second time. The court sentenced him to 60 days in jail, but he was given credit for 60 days of time already served. He must pay a $500 fine and have his license suspended for 30 days. He was sentenced to one year of probation and must perform 40 hours of community service. Reluked was also sentenced to a $120 suspended fine.

Judge Govendo sentenced Emmanuel S. Magia to three days in jail for his first conviction of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was given 24 hours credit for time already served. Magia was ordered to report to jail at 7 p.m. on August 14 and was released at 7 a.m. on August 16. He was fined $500 and his driver's license was suspended for 30 days. Magia was sentenced to six months probation and must perform 40 hours of community service. He must pay an $85 court and probation fee.

Alfonso Ramon pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol for the second time. Judge Govendo sentenced him to 40 days in jail with 24 hours of credit for time already served. He was ordered to report to jail on August 23 at 6 p.m. and will be released on October 1 at 6 a.m.

Ramon must pay a $1,000 fine and have his driver's license suspended for one year. He is sentenced to two years' probation and must complete 200 hours of community service. Ramon was also ordered to pay a suspended fine of $240.

Archie Abugan served three days in jail for his first conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was given 24 hours credit for time already served. He reported to the Department of Corrections on July 30 and was released on August 1.

Abugan was fined $500 and had his driver's license suspended for 30 days. He was not sentenced to probation or community service, but must pay $25 in court costs.

Judge Govendo sentenced Michael Aguon to 30 days in jail for his third conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol, with credit for time already served. Aguon was ordered to report to jail on September 2 at 6 p.m. He will be released on October 1 at 6 a.m.

Aguon will be fined $1,000 and have his driver's license suspended for six months. He will be sentenced to two years' probation and must complete 80 hours of community service. He will be required to pay a probation fee of $240.

Vincent Constantino was sentenced to three days in jail for his first conviction of driving under the influence. He was given credit for 12 hours of time already served. He reported to the Department of Corrections on August 9 and was released on August 12. He was fined $500 and had his license suspended for six months. Constantino was sentenced to one year of probation and must perform 40 hours of community service. He must pay a suspended fine of $120.
