Slipknot's Sid Wilson reveals he is in hospital with severe burns following a frightening campfire explosion incident

Sid Wilson of Slipknot is recovering from severe burns sustained in a campfire explosion on his farm. The musician, known for his intense performances, detailed his injuries and recovery process in a series of Instagram videos. Despite the severity of his injuries, Wilson assured his fans that he will be back on tour soon.

Sid Wilson, who is married to Kelly Osbourne, said the accident happened while he was working on his farm. In a video posted on August 23, Wilson described how a campfire exploded, causing severe burns to his face and arms.

“Hey guys, I had an explosion in my face,” he said as he lay in a hospital bed with an oxygen tube. “I'm OK. I'm going to be OK. But I have serious burns on my face and arms.”

Wilson revealed that his eyebrows were charred, his mouth blistered and his arms badly burned. Despite his condition, he remained optimistic, telling his fans, “I'm OK and I don't care what it takes, but I'll see you on tour.”

Wilson showed the extent of his injuries in the videos, including swollen lips and burns on his arm. During the footage, medical staff could be seen treating his wounds, taking his vital signs and instructing him to sit up and breathe. “You can see the phone shaking. That's because I'm holding it and I'm shaking,” he explained.

To ensure Wilson's recovery, he was transferred to another medical facility with better equipment to treat burns. “The worst part is my arms. They're going to shave my head, so I'm saying goodbye to the long hair. It's going away,” he said, acknowledging that the accident had affected his appearance. Wilson reassured his supporters, saying, “I'm OK… I'm a brave guy. Not exactly, but I'm holding up pretty well.”

Responding to fans' questions about how he sustained the burns, Wilson clarified that the incident occurred while he was working on his farm and not during a show.

He explained that the campfire still had residual flames when it spontaneously ignited. “I heard a faint hissing sound – fire,” Wilson said, describing the explosion. Despite the terrifying experience, he was determined to continue his future performances.

Slipknot has several shows scheduled for the coming weeks, including stops in California, Oklahoma, Washington and Indiana. Wilson made it clear that his injuries would not prevent him from keeping those commitments. “I'll be in LA – that's not going to stop me,” he said, referring to the band's sold-out shows on September 13 and 14.

The band is also scheduled to perform at the Rocklahoma event on September 1st, but the band's website does not currently indicate whether any of those performances will be postponed due to Wilson's recovery.
