Three people hospitalized after street racing accident on I-84; driver arrested

GRESHAM, Ore. (KPTV) – Three people are in the hospital and one man has been arrested following a street race that resulted in a serious crash on I-84 early Saturday morning.

Shortly after 3:15 a.m., police arrived at the scene of an accident near NE 181st Avenue, where a white Mercedes reportedly collided with another car during a street race and rolled over. Three occupants were injured. Their current condition is unknown.

The three injured were taken to a nearby hospital, while the driver of the Mercedes fled the scene of the accident on foot, but was seen on the dashboard camera footage and identified as Petro Bosyuk.

A 20-year resident of the Pearl District was thrown to the ground, resulting in a hip and pelvic fracture.

Bosyuk was later arrested at his home on several serious charges related to the accident.

The accident caused I-84 to be closed for several hours Saturday morning.
