HATBORO, Pa. (WPVI) — Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Montgomery County on Friday evening.

It occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the area of County Line Road and Park Avenue in Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

Officers were called to the scene because there were reports of an accident where people were trapped in the cars.

At the scene of the accident, the police found three vehicles, one of which was on its roof.

An investigation revealed that a Chevy Camaro driven by a 31-year-old man was traveling westbound on County Line Road when it crossed into the eastbound lanes.

The Camaro reportedly collided with a Nissan SUV driven by a 69-year-old woman who was traveling east.

A third car, a Hyundai, which was behind the Nissan, was also involved in the accident. According to police, the Hyundai was also driven by a 69-year-old woman.

After the accident, a Good Samaritan rushed to the scene to help.

“I didn't have any shoes on or anything. I ran down as fast as I could, helped the paramedic lower the stretcher, and we opened the door,” said Wyatt Tinar of Hatboro.

According to police, the driver of the Camaro was pronounced dead at the scene. Two occupants of the car had to be freed from the vehicle and later taken to Jefferson Abington Hospital.

One of the passengers, a 31-year-old woman, died in hospital, police said.

The driver of the Hyundai was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center and is in stable condition.

What led to the incident is unclear.

Action News spoke to residents in the area who said County Line Road can be dangerous and busy.

“I'm just praying that the families are OK and that whoever is in the hospital pulls through. It's sad,” said Cheryl Mitchell of Warminster. “You have to think about your own children and how scary this is.”

Despite the risks involved in driving on this road, local residents say this accident was particularly devastating.

“I just felt hopeless. I couldn't even sleep last night. I was devastated because so many people have lost their lives and their lives have been impacted by this,” said Nicole Miller of Hatboro.

Now people hope that local officials will work to quickly improve safety measures.

“Definitely traffic lights. Maybe the speed limit will be lowered a little bit,” Miller said.

“I would like to see more police officers. They speed up and down this street all the time and you don't see much of it,” added Sue Trimble of Hatboro.
