Sonia Malhar speaks about disturbing incident involving young actor

Actress Sonia Malhar recently shared a disturbing experience from her early days in the film industry. In 2013, when she was new to acting, she was molested by a young actor. Sonia said that the actor suddenly grabbed her when she was returning from the toilet during a shoot in Thodupuzha. The opportunity to work on this shoot came through the production manager and took place at a location that resembled a warehouse.

Sonia described that she was scared and burst into tears because of the actor's sudden behavior. As she cried, the actor apologized. When questioned about his behavior, the actor stated that he liked her manner and that his behavior seemed appropriate at that time. He also mentioned that he liked her outfit – a black T-shirt and blue jeans. After completing the three-four day shoot, Sonia returned home, but the emotional burden remained.

When Sonia discussed the incident with her husband, she was advised not to continue acting. When asked if it was a serious problem, Sonia replied that people like her would find it difficult to find their place within the

film industry. Eventually, family commitments led her back to cinema. After the release of the Hema Committee report, Sonia noticed some reactions denying the report's findings. She clarified that she is now sharing her past experiences to clear up misconceptions and clarify that the situation was not as some responses suggested.
