Robbery suspects arrested in Rome after stabbing driver and stealing car in Syracuse

Two men stabbed a man in Syracuse on Saturday afternoon before stealing his car. They ended up in the City of Rome in Oneida County before being arrested by authorities.

According to Syracuse police, officers responded to the 300 block of Richmond Avenue at around 3:27 p.m. after receiving a report of a man injured during a robbery. Officers found a man in his 20s who had an apparent stab wound to his upper body and a cut to one hand.

The victim told officers that he had just gotten out of his vehicle when the two suspects jumped in. They then stabbed the victim as he tried to stop them from driving away.

The car was eventually found about 45 miles away in Rome after fleeing from New York State Police. The two suspects were arrested and returned to Onondaga County.

The victim sustained injuries that are not medically life-threatening and is currently being treated at Upstate Hospital.
