Actor Darshan murder case: Viral picture shows him receiving VIP treatment in Bengaluru Central Jail – Karnataka News

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is lodged in Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in a murder case, was seen receiving VIP treatment in the jail in a photo that went viral on social media. The jail administration has taken note of the viral photo and summoned senior officials.

The undated image that has gone viral shows Darshan sitting in a kind of park inside a prison, relaxing with a drink and a cigarette. Some violent inmates are also seen with him.

One of the men (in the black shirt) seen sitting near Darshan is the infamous historian Wilson Garden Naga.

Darshan was arrested in connection with the murder case of Renukaswamy, who was a fan of the Kannada actor.

Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old auto driver, was found near a flyover in Bengaluru on June 9. According to police, Renukaswamy, who was a fan of Darshan, was kidnapped and murdered by a gang at the actor's behest after he allegedly sent abusive messages on social media to actor Pavithra Gowda, who is rumoured to be Darshan's partner.

Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were arrested by the police along with 15 others.

On August 21, a Bengaluru court extended the judicial remand of Darshan, Pavithra and others until August 28.
