Renukaswamy murder case: Photo of Darshan with cigarette and coffee in jail goes viral | News from India

NEW DELHI: Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepawho is currently being held in the Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bengaluru, has sparked controversy after a photograph of him went viral. The image shows Darshan holding a cigarette and a cup of coffee, sitting with three others in what appears to be an open area inside the jail. The people pictured with him are reportedly violent bedsheet thieves. Wilson Garden Nagahis manager and co-accused Nagaraj and another inmate, Kulla Seena. However, there is no official confirmation whether the photo is genuine or was taken inside the prison premises.

Darshan, along with 16 others, including his friend Pavithra Gowdais in custody in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy. Police Commissioner of Bengaluru B Dayananda recently stated that the police will submit the final report to the court once all the forensic reports are ready. According to police sources, Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan of the actor, sent obscene messages to Gowda, which allegedly infuriated Darshan and led to the murder. Renukaswamy's body was found near a stormwater drain next to a flat in Sumanahalli on June 9.
Raghavendra, a member of Darshan's fan club in Chitradurga and one of the accused, allegedly lured Renukaswamy to a hut in RR Nagar on the pretext of meeting the actor. In this hut, Renukaswamy was allegedly tortured and killed. The post-mortem report revealed that he died of shock and haemorrhage due to multiple blunt injuries.
Police sources told PTI that Gowda, the main accused, played a significant role in Renukaswamy's murder. The investigation reportedly confirms that she instigated and conspired with the other accused and actively participated in the crime.
