Suspect arrested in connection with murder of sneaker reseller

A man suspected of being linked to the murder of Upscale Cracc has been arrested.

According to PIX 11, 35-year-old Jayquan Straker of Poughkeepsie, NY, was taken into custody by police on Saturday for the murder of famous sneaker reseller Javier Onsorio-Mejia, aka Upscale Cracc.

Osorio-Mejia, 31, was shot three times in his right leg around 5:15 a.m. in Manhattan's Soho neighborhood in June, but later died of his injuries at a nearby hospital.

Police officials believe Osorio-Mejia and another female passenger were being followed by a gunman from a club in Queens. After the two stopped, the suspect allegedly robbed and shot him before fleeing. Police say Osorio-Mejia's female passenger was not injured.

Sources told Complex in June that the murder occurred as Cracc was on his way back to his home in Bayonne, New Jersey.

Straker faces multiple charges including murder, robbery and illegal possession of weapons.
