Alison Hammond burst into tears as she recalled her financial worries after making it as a TV presenter on This Morning.

The 49-year-old rose to fame after his appearance on “Big Brother” in 2002 and is now a fixture on British television, appearing in shows such as “The Great British Bake Off” and “For The Love Of Dogs”.

Months after leaving the Big Brother house, Alison was hired by This Morning as a reporter, but said in 2007 that she could not pay her mortgage.

This year, she explained that she was not booked for the ITV show and instead worked in a hair salon, answering phones and drying customers' hair.

Crying, the TV star told the Observer: “It's not always fine. But I was fine, you know? That's television, it's fickle and it's part of my journey, part of my strength.”

Alison said Bake Off might not hire her next year, adding: “And that's OK. I know I'll be fine because I was fine before. I'll work at Tesco and people will still love me.”

In the in-depth interview, a Bake Off producer admitted that Alison was a “nightmare” at home – but not for the reason you might expect.

The producer revealed that Alison's greatest strength is her boundless enthusiasm: “Sometimes the crew is a little tired and then Alison comes in and cheers everyone up.”

“It’s great at work – but there has to be a nightmare at home.'

Speaking about her role as host of Bake Off, Alison recounted the moment she cried outside the Channel 4 show.

She explained that she grew “more passionate” about it each season and was surprised to find herself in tears when the bakers left last year.

“I thought, ‘What’s going on?’” Alison recalled.

This came after Rylan admitted on This Morning that Alison was his “worst houseguest ever”.

'“The worst houseguest I ever had, but also one of my favorites, was Alison Hammond,” he said.

“She had obviously had a few small drinks when she stayed at my place and forgot to take her makeup off and when I walked past her bed the next day it looked like Alison was still in bed.

“Her whole face was on the pillow.”

We're sure Alison is too busy to call Rylan out on his comments as she has other shows to host.

These include the BBC entertainment series “Alison Hammond's Big Weekend”, in which she spends two days with celebrities, and a travel series through America with her 19-year-old son Aiden.

The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 next month.
