Budget Meta Quest 3S could be released in September

Meta plans to launch the affordable Quest 3S headset in September

According to reliable sources, Meta plans to introduce a new virtual reality headset called Meta Quest 3S in September. This model is likely to be a cheaper version of the Meta Quest 3 released last year.

We know that

Quest 3S can cost between $300 and $400, which is significantly cheaper than the Quest 3's starting price of $499.

One way to reduce costs could be to sell the controllers separately, although that's less likely. Another possibility is that Meta will use simplified controllers or include them in a bundle with the Quest 3S.

Gurman notes that the details of this strategy may be revealed during the Meta Connect event, which will be held at the company's headquarters on September 25 and 26.

In addition to Quest 3S, the event could also feature new augmented reality glasses codenamed “Orion,” which are likely to be different from Ray-Ban's popular Meta Smart glasses but have a similar concept.
