Philadelphia police make arrest in shooting case

The Philadelphia Police Department has made arrests in connection with a shooting on Beacon Street this week in which around 15 vehicles were struck by bullets and in three cases people were injured.

PHILADELPHIA, Mississippi (WCBI) – Philadelphia police have made arrests in connection with a shooting on Beacon Street this week in which approximately 15 vehicles were struck by bullets and in three cases people were injured.

According to Philadelphia police, officers were in the area of ​​Alford Avenue in the early hours of Saturday, August 24, where the shots apparently came from.

31-year-old Jonathan Salvador from Mexico was taken into custody and is also believed to be staying in the country illegally.

Officers seized an AR rifle and ammunition.

Further investigation revealed that Salvador had allegedly purchased ammunition from a local gun dealer and attempted to purchase an AR-15 days before these shootings, but was denied the purchase of the weapon and purchased only the ammunition.

Salvador is currently facing dozens of criminal charges, including attempted murder.

It is currently unclear whether this incident is related to the shot-out windows of some local businesses in the city center.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Salvador is currently being held at the Winston-Choctaw Prison.
