Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 gets new release window (report)

A new update could finally reveal a release window in which audiences around the world will see Tom Holland as the MCU’s Peter Parker in Spider Man 4.

In August 2022, eight months after Spider-Man: Absolutely not HomeFormer Sony Pictures executive Amy Pascal confirmed at the release of Spider Man 4 was in development. Unfortunately, development was slow.

The process was even temporarily halted in 2023, as Tom Holland confirmed, thanks to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike. Holland explained that they “[had] have held meetings” to Spider Man 4 before the strike.

Many thought Spider Man 4 could be released on June 27, 2025, a date Sony Pictures is currently targeting for an untitled Marvel film that's on the calendar. Unfortunately, the production schedule isn't holding up, and there's no way the film will meet that release timeframe since filming hasn't even begun yet.

More recently Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus said he expected Spider Man 4 be released after Daredevil: Reborn but before Avengers: Endgame.

Insider Jeff Sneider also claimed that the film would begin shooting in September or October of this year, but that seems unlikely at this point, especially since there is little to no official announcement.

The Direct published this prediction breakdown earlier this summer on the topic of “Spider-Man 4 release: When will Tom Holland’s sequel come out?”

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman’s Patreon, Spider Man 4The release window has been announced.

Richtman noted that Spider Man 4 will now film next year” and is currently “planned publication [in July 2026]:”

“As expected, 'Spider-Man 4' will now be filmed next year and is scheduled to hit theaters. [in] July 2026 between 'Doomsday' and 'Secret Wars,' which means this will most likely be another multiverse movie.”

It is important to note that neither Sony Pictures nor Marvel Studios have officially commented on this report and the information is pure rumors at this time.

The future of Tom Holland's Spider-Man

As Richtman said, if Spider Man 4 gives free between Avengers: Endgame And Secret Warsthen it will almost certainly be a multiverse-themed film. Not to mention that many fans had already expected Spidey to appear in Avengers: Infinity War – The incredible journey through the wild from the beginning.

This news will no doubt sadden some. Many have been dying to see a street-level Spider-Man story in which the hero takes on Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, battles Scorpion, perhaps encounters Black Cat, or even teams up with Charlie Cox's Daredevil.

All of this doesn’t necessarily fit perfectly into a multiverse narrative, especially if the Avengers lose End of the worldThis could lead to the creation of Battleworld, a patchwork reality filled with several different realities simultaneously.

The silver lining on the horizon Spider Man 4The placement of could mean that a reunion with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Spideys is imminent. After the success of Deadpool and WolverineMarvel Studios is probably desperately trying to continue to capitalize on the return of nostalgic heroes.

Spider Man 4 is currently expected to be released in July 2026, but no release date has been officially announced.
