Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, accused of Renukaswamy murder, now seen in a video call from Bengaluru jail after a photo leaked – Karnataka News

One day after the Photo of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepawho is imprisoned in connection with a murder case in the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru, smoking a cigarette in an open field has gone viral, a video showing Darshan having a phone conversation has surfaced.

The clip begins with a man in a yellow T-shirt smiling warmly at another man on a video call. During the conversation, the second man, still holding the phone, steps back, drawing the camera away from his face. He passes the device to someone nearby, and a moment later, Darshan's face appears on the screen.

Darshan greets the man with a cheerful wave. The man points to his mouth and asks if the actor has eaten. Darshan nods in response, smiling. After a brief exchange of words, the two wave one last time and say goodbye to each other.

Darshan and Pavithra Gowda are among the 17 people arrested in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.

Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old auto driver who was also a fan of the Kannada actor, was found near a flyover in Bengaluru on June 9. According to police, Renukaswamy was kidnapped and murdered by a gang on the actor's instructions after he allegedly sent abusive messages on social media to actor Pavithra Gowda, who is rumoured to be Darshan's partner.

On August 21, a court in Bengaluru extended the judicial guardianship of Darshan, Pavithra and others until August 28.

Earlier, Shiva Gowda, Renukaswamy's father, reacted to the viral picture, urging the state government to take action against the actor.

“When Darshan asked for home-cooked food, it was not allowed“We have faith in the police and the judicial system. I am completely surprised how this could happen. This is shocking news for me. I request the government to investigate and take action,” Gowda said.
