Watch the spooky trailer for 20/20's new true crime series

The Show 20/20 has released a new miniseries for true crime fans. Bad romanceviewers are drawn into relationships that go wrong.

The story of the married couple Timothy and Rebecca Bliefnick begins. One of them explained: “You can't meet a couple that has more to offer.”

“I mean, you want to talk about the American dream? They had it,” another person explains. “They looked like they had everything.”

But “there comes a time when love turns to treason and treason to murder.”

A detective involved in the case admits: “It is simply unbelievable that someone can do something like that to another person.”

“Their beautiful romance wasn't so beautiful anymore,” one person says.

The “jaw dropping” of the case happened in 2020, before Timothy moved on to murder, when he appeared Family dispute next to his parents and siblings.

In the episode, host Steve Harvey asked Timothy what the biggest mistake he made at his wedding was, to which he replied, “Darling, I love you, but I said yes.”

“Not my fault, not my fault,” he continued. “I love my wife. I'm going to get in trouble for this, right?”

Three years later, Rebecca, a 41-year-old nurse and mother of three, was found shot to death in her Quincy, Illinois, home amid a divorce and custody battle.

Shortly thereafter, Timothy was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and home invasion. He was found guilty in May and sentenced to life in prison three months later.

Bad romance is a new eight-part limited true crime series that brings together some of the most shocking love stories of all time from ABC's 20/20Airs Mondays at 10pm ET/PT beginning January 22. Episodes stream on Hulu the next day.
