Angel Reese sends a blunt message to critics in light of recent shooting issues

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has managed to straddle two sides of history in her rookie season.

For one thing, Reese has broken nearly every WNBA double-double record imaginable. In July, she set the new league record for most consecutive double-doubles in a single season and has followed that up with a string of rebounding feats since then. The most recent example: In Sunday's 77-75 loss to the Las Vegas Aces, Reese became the first player in WNBA history to grab 20 rebounds in three consecutive games, tying Tina Charles for the most double-doubles by a rookie (22).

On the other, unwanted side of the story, Reese was heavily criticized on social media for grabbing offensive rebounds based on her own missed shots. Amid growing criticism of her shooting woes, the Sky rookie seemed to hit back at her haters with a blunt message.

Reese wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Sunday: “If it were easy, everyone would do it. All good!”

Sunday's loss to the Aces marked the second straight game in which Reese shot 25% from the field, though he finished with 11 points and 22 rebounds. The last time Reese shot over 50% from the field was in the Sky's 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm on July 7.

The same two-sided historical argument could be made for fellow Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, who committed a record number of turnovers during her stellar rookie season. But while Clark's creative offensive game tends to draw attention, Reese's laborious efforts to complete her layups are often tiring to watch.

The Sky rookie will try to turn things around in Wednesday's game against the Washington Mystics.
