Orya Jan in big trouble as FIA uncovers his role in spreading anti-state propaganda

There has been a breakthrough in the case of Orya Maqbool Jan, who was arrested for spreading religious hatred: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has received a technical report of Jan's mobile phone, television channel 24NewsHD reported on Monday.

According to sources, this report revealed a WhatsApp group linked to Orya that was allegedly involved in spreading negative narratives against key state institutions and senior judiciary officials.

Former bureaucrat and YouTuber Orya Maqbool Jan, who is critical of the Pakistani army, was arrested for allegedly inciting religious hatred and defaming institutions, especially the military.

Jan, 72, was taken into the custody of the FIA's Cybercrime Department for four days on August 22 following a raid on his Lahore apartment.

The technical report of his mobile phone showed that Jan was actively participating in this WhatsApp group.

The group was reportedly involved in creating and distributing propaganda against government agencies and national security institutions.

According to the findings, Jan was also involved in writing scripts for anti-institutional content in return for financial compensation.

The group reportedly used deepfake technology to create and distribute fake videos and images, specifically targeting government officials and national security agencies.

Orya Jan and other members of the group are said to have spread this propaganda with the intention of undermining public trust in state institutions.

These activities suggest a coordinated attempt to undermine the credibility of key government agencies and sow discord in the country.

The FIA is continuing its investigations to uncover the full extent of the group's activities and the possible involvement of other individuals.
