“Guns were drawn”: 2 people arrested for car theft and drugs at Ak-Chin Casino

Two people are in the Pinal County Jail after being arrested by Ak-Chin police last week on auto theft and drug charges.

An Ak-Chin police spokesman identified the suspects as Jeffrey Jacobsen, 56, and Janice Nobbe, 53.

Both will make their first appearance in Pinal County Superior Court tomorrow. Bail has been set at $2,500 for each defendant.

Ak-Chin spokesman Matthew Benson said Ak-Chin police and the Maricopa Police Department arrested the passenger of a stolen car parked outside Harrah's Ak-Chin Hotel and Casino at 1 p.m. on Aug. 19. Officers found the driver inside the casino and arrested him, Benson said.

Both were taken into custody and booked into the Pinal County Detention Center, Benson said.

“Guns were drawn,” said Craig Chojnowski, a Glennwilde resident who witnessed the arrests.
