Investigations into fatal wrong-way driving accident involving fired 6th District Deputy Rigo Vivar continue

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Authorities are trying to learn more about the fatal crash over the weekend involving a Harris County 6th Precinct deputy.

The deputy police officer, named Rigo Vivar, has since been dismissed.

Investigators said Vivar was driving his personal vehicle to work around 1:30 p.m. Saturday and struck another driver on the wrong side of Canal Street.

An ABC13 emergency crew was at the scene of the accident Monday, where broken glass and vehicle parts were still stuck in the side of a nearby building.
