Ligue 1: Lyon wins after spectator riots in Bastia

Lyon were awarded the win over Bastia after their Ligue 1 match was abandoned last month due to crowd disturbances.

The match in Corsica was suspended at half-time with the score at 0-0. The game had already been postponed for 55 minutes following shocking scenes in which some Bastia supporters entered the pitch and confronted Lyon players during the warm-up.

Bottom-placed Bastia will have to play its next three home games behind closed doors on neutral ground, while the club's fans will be denied access to its next four away games.

The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has also banned Bastia director Anthony Agostini for six months.

In response to the LFP investigation, Bastia announced plans to remodel the Stade Armand Cesari to “maximize security.”

Bastia are two points off the safety of Ligue 1 with three rounds to go. They have to travel to Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille and host Lorient.
