Man faces decades-long prison sentence in connection with Tempe crimes: MCAO

Officials with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office say a man who was arrested in connection with a series of criminal incidents in Tempe was sentenced to decades in prison.

According to a statement we received on Monday, 25-year-old Djimon Boggs was sentenced to 25 years in prison for “committing multiple burglaries, thefts and sexual assaults in Tempe last year.”

“Between September and October 2023, the defendant raided a Tempe neighborhood three times for unlocked homes,” part of the statement reads. “After gaining entry, he threatened the victims and attempted to sexually assault them. Two of the victims were able to scream for help; one was sexually assaulted at gunpoint.”

Officials said Boggs pleaded guilty in July to burglary, sexual assault and two counts of attempted sexual abuse. According to previous MCAO statements, Boggs was charged with three counts of sexual abuse, two counts of attempted sexual abuse, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of first-degree burglary, one count of second-degree burglary and two counts of kidnapping.

“Boggs was sentenced to 12.5 years for burglary and 12.5 years for sexual assault. He received a life sentence of probation for the remaining two counts of attempted sexual assault,” the statement said.
