August 26, 2024 (Spring Valley) – Two people from Perris, California, died at the scene of a crash that occurred in Spring Valley around 6:13 p.m. on August 24. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a silver Nissan Quest van lost control of the vehicle on the exit ramp from State Route 94 to Bancroft Drive, left the roadway and struck a light pole.

The driver, a 68-year-old man, and the passenger, 63, suffered fatal injuries. A 14-year-old girl who was sitting in the back of the van and was also from Perris was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses who may have additional information regarding this accident are asked to contact the California Highway Patrol, El Cajon Office.

This accident remains under investigation; it does not appear that alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the accident, says Officer Jared Grieshaber of the CHP.
