Police respond to car-motorcycle accident in College Township; helicopter called to scene

A rescue helicopter was called to the scene of an accident between a car and a motorcycle near State College on Monday afternoon.

The collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of East College Avenue and Struble Road in College Township.

A STAT MedEvac helicopter was dispatched to a nearby landing pad on Shiloh Road behind the Nittany Mall and one person was flown to a hospital. Information on injuries and details of the crash are not yet available.

State College police investigated the accident.

College Avenue was limited to one lane in the accident area and Struble Road was closed for approximately two hours to reconstruct the accident scene and clean up the damage.

Centre LifeLink EMS and Alpha Fire Company also responded.
