Elderly woman dies in accident on driveway

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas (KCTV) – An elderly woman died Monday morning in Overland Park, Kansas, after an accident in the driveway of a residential home.

According to Overland Park police, the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. in the driveway of a home near the intersection of 96th Terrace and Foster.

According to police, a 92-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle that was backing out of the garage. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and later died from injuries she sustained in the accident.

OPPD said the woman's identity is being withheld pending reports and the incident is being investigated by the Overland Park Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit.
