Mumbai student gets into trouble again at the airport because she tries to hide her trip to Thailand from college

News from Mumbai: A fashion retail student was stopped at Mumbai airport on Thursday while trying to board a flight to Singapore. The student was identified as SS Ghatol, 25, who was travelling on a tourist visa to pursue an internship sponsored by her college in Worli.

According to a report in the Times of India, immigration officials found that four pages were missing from her passport. Ghatol had damaged her passport to conceal from her institute a trip to Thailand that she had taken from February 11 to 14.

During this time, according to a police officer, she asked for an exemption from an exam on the grounds that she was feeling unwell.

Speaking on the issue, deputy immigration officer Sujit Patil said that Ghatol feared her fraud would be exposed when the institute asked her to produce her passport after she was shortlisted for the internship in Singapore, the TOI report said. Ghatol was accused of fraud and violations of the passport law.
