Man killed in shooting on Northeast Side identified

SAN ANTONIOUPDATE: The The Bexar County Coroner's Office identified a man shot on the Northeast Side.

Miguel Angel Garza, 32, died of multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide, the office said.


ORIGINAL STORY: One person is dead and another was hospitalized after a shooting on the Northeast Side, according to San Antonio police.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 6400 block of Interstate 35 North.

Upon arrival, police said they found two people with gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was shot several times in the stomach and died at the scene, police said.

The other victim was shot in the arm and possibly other parts of his body, according to SAPD. He couldn't say much, but he was able to speak to officers.

Police said one of the victims left a trail of blood and eventually fell to the ground.

SAPD is currently investigating how the shooting occurred. Police said one person was detained for further questioning.
