In a recent interview with IGNAmazon Games CEO Christoph Hartmann is showing interest in Nintendo's new Switch successor with DLSS support and 4K support. The system, dubbed Switch 2, is expected to use a more powerful NVIDIA Orin Tegra chip to enable gaming in higher 4K resolution, likely within the limits of the Switch OLED dock (which itself actually supports 4K output).

This additional power is apparently enough to attract publishers like Amazon Games, who have not yet released games for the existing Switch system with Tegra X1.

“Yes, of course we plan to develop games for it and I can't wait for it to come out.” said Hartmann.

“I mean, honestly, I'd rather let them wait a year and get it perfect than rush it out and have us all complain about what doesn't work.

“Switch is such a fantastic product, I can wait another year if I have to. And in terms of development, I think most non-Nintendo developers don't make Switch titles exclusively. They're always part of a portfolio mix of platform mix. Just wait and see.”

Looking at Amazon Games' align shows that no game has been announced for either the current Switch or the next one, but the latter is impossible since Nintendo has yet to unveil its new system. Remember that Amazon Games is both a publisher and a first-party game developer, and is working on a number of projects, including a Lord of the Rings MMORPG as well as a major new AAA Tomb Raider game in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics.

Reports indicate that Developers were informed about the new Switch modeland that last year a demo was shown in which Breath of the Wild runs in 4K.
