One person injured in shooting at Nicollet Mall Station; buses replace light rail

A shooting at Nicollet Mall Station left one person injured and caused delays to the light rail.

According to Metro Transit Police, the shooting occurred around 6 a.m.

One person suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The man was taken to the hospital for further treatment.

After reviewing the surveillance video, police believe that there was an argument between the man who was shot and the suspected shooter before the shooting.

Police said no arrests had been made so far.

Due to the incident, Metro Transit Police said light rail vehicles will not be running at Government Plaza, Nicollet, Warehouse and Target Field stations and will be replaced by buses until the scene of the accident is cleared.
