Access road to Red Rock Canyon reopened after fatal motorcycle accident

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – Nevada State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that closed the road to Red Rock Canyon overnight.

The accident occurred around 11:14 p.m. near mile marker 3 on State Route 159, an access road to Red Rock Canyon that begins at Blue Diamond Road and turns into Charleston Boulevard just west of 215.

During the investigation, the eastbound and westbound lanes were closed for several hours. All lanes have been reopened since 4 a.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a single motorcycle was involved in the accident. An adult male was pronounced dead, but his identity is pending.

Officials are expected to release further details about this accident once their investigation is complete.
