EXCLUSIVE: Murdaugh jurors give behind-the-scenes testimony at South Carolina trial of the century

Two jurors from the infamous double murder trial of Alex Murdaugh offer a behind-the-scenes look at the trial of the century in South Carolina in the latest exclusive episode of Fox Nation, available this Tuesday.

Fox News' Martha MacCallum sat down with the two jurors – including the “Egg Juror,” who was abruptly dismissed from the case, and “Juror Z,” the only deliberating juror who admitted that her guilty verdict was influenced by court clerk Becky Hill.

“I feel like I’ve been targeted,” said the “Egg Juror.”

“Ms. Hill asked me several times for my opinion and I always answered: 'undecided.'”

The push for a new murder trial for discredited attorney Alex Murdaugh faces an uphill battle after a state judge limited questioning of witnesses and imposed a high burden of proof related to sensational allegations that the court clerk influenced the jury during last year's highly anticipated trial.

“What Becky did was not right,” Juror Z told MaCallum, revealing that Hill spoke and interacted with jurors in the jury room.

“She made it look like he was already guilty,” she said.

The “egg juror,” who got her name after telling the judge she left a dozen eggs in the jury room, believes the presiding judge made a mistake when he dismissed her from the case.

In Fox Nation's exclusive “The Fall of the House of Murdaugh: From Egg to Z,” the duo go into detail about what Hill did to challenge the verdict.

Murdaugh was accused of murdering his wife Maggie and 22-year-old son Paul on June 7, 2021, a crime Murdaugh repeatedly denied.

Assistant Attorney General Creighton Waters told jurors that Murdaugh, a disbarred attorney, committed the murders on his hunting property to avoid a devastating financial reckoning.

After a difficult trial, the jury returned a guilty verdict after less than three hours of deliberation, and Murdaugh was later sentenced to life in prison.

Nevertheless, the period since the verdict was announced has been turbulent in its own way.

Now he is demanding a new trial, arguing that Becky Hill influenced the jury. The South Carolina Supreme Court has agreed to accept Murdaugh's appeal on allegations of jury tampering.

Hill resigned earlier this year due to the allegations against her and is now the subject of two investigations by the South Carolina Attorney General's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
