The crash involved three vehicles at the intersection of Kipling and 51st Place north of I-70, near the Wheat Ridge-Arvada border in the western part of the Denver metropolitan area.

According to police, four teenagers were in one car and the teenage driver was at fault because he ran a red light. Three other adults in the other two vehicles were involved in the accident.
