Meanwhile, Home Minister G. Parameshwara announced a review of security arrangements in all prisons in the state under the leadership of a senior officer of the Indian Police Service.

The state government also transferred Somashekhar, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Prisons and Correctional Institutions, who was in charge of the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, replacing him with another officer, Divyashree Khushi. This came a day after nine prison officials were suspended on Monday. The state government also appointed K. Suresh as Chief Superintendent of Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, replacing V.
