Lil Baby arrested for concealed weapon in Las Vegas

The rapper's lawyers say he has a concealed carry permit in Georgia that is not valid in Nevada

Lil Baby was arrested Monday morning and charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. Rolling Stone can confirm. The rapper was later released on bail. His lawyers say they are currently “actively” investigating the circumstances of the rapper's arrest.

Lil Baby, born Dominique Jones, was arrested around 5 a.m. on August 26 in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. TMZ, which first confirmed the arrest, claimed that video showed the rapper being handed a gun at the Encore hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. He was released from a Clark County Detention Center on $5,000 bail.

“To be clear, Dominique Jones holds a valid Georgia concealed carry weapon (CCW) permit,” his attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff said in a statement to Rolling Stone“On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances of his arrest in Las Vegas.”

Lil Baby's Georgia concealed weapons permit is not valid in the state of Nevada, which recognizes concealed weapons permits from 28 states. Georgia is not one of them. Findling and Chensoff did not immediately respond to Rolling Stonefor a comment on this detail.

Last night, Lil Baby handed out a flyer for an event at Los Angeles' MainRo Bar, which is set to host a birthday party for J-Harden on Tuesday. He has not yet commented on the circumstances of his arrest. (Over the weekend, he also shared on Instagram that his album was “80% done” and apologized for the delay in the album's release. His last LP, It's just medropped in 2022.)
