Oasis reunion ends 15-year dispute after ugly brawl behind the scenes: “The guns are silent”

The members of the legendary British rock band Oasis have settled their differences after 15 years.

“Wonderwall” singers and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have ended their 15-year feud and are back on stage together for an upcoming world tour.

“Oasis today end years of feverish speculation by confirming a long-awaited series of shows in the UK and Ireland,” the band's website said.

“The guns are silent. The stars are aligned. The long wait is over. Come and see for yourself. It won't be televised.”

In addition to their statement, Oasis shared a video montage of their previous performances in front of roaring crowds at their popular concerts.

“Liam and I are telepathic if you know what I mean,” began the video clip shared on Instagram.

The announcement by the singers of “Don't Look Back in Anger” comes after they unexpectedly disbanded almost 15 years ago.

Oasis split up in 2009 after years of disputes; Noel officially left the band shortly before a performance at a festival near Paris.

Even before their separation, the brothers had a long, antagonistic relationship, and reportedly they did not speak to each other for years after their separation.

“People write and say what they want, but I just couldn't continue working with Liam for another day,” Noel, the band's guitarist and songwriter, wrote in a statement at the time of the split.

Although the Gallagher brothers have not performed together since then, both regularly play Oasis songs in their solo performances. They have also criticized each other in the press.

Noel accused his younger brother of having a hangover that forced them to cancel a concert in 2009. The frontman denied the allegation and filed a lawsuit, but later dropped the case.

In 2011, Noel told the Associated Press in an interview that he left the band after an incident in which Liam started swinging a guitar “like an axe… and he swung that guitar around and kind of ripped my face off with it, you know?”

“The most important thing is that he and I are brothers,” he said. “He thinks I'm desperately trying to get the band back together for money. But I didn't join the band to make money. I joined the band to have fun and see the world.”

“I don't know what his problem is,” he continued. “I think he just wanted to go off and start his solo career, make all the money and be surrounded by all the yes-men that he can fire and hire whenever he wants. I'm not going to do that.”

But now the brothers are preparing to reunite. The band says their fans will experience “the spark and intensity” that only comes from sharing the stage together.

Oasis will begin their tour on July 4 and 5, 2025 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The British rock band will also perform in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

“There are plans to expand OASIS LIVE '25 to other continents outside of Europe over the next year,” it says on its website.
