Student arrested for allegedly bringing a weapon to West Phoenix High School

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – Police say a student was arrested after allegedly bringing a gun to a west Phoenix high school.

Shortly before noon on Tuesday, officers were called to West Phoenix High School near 39th Avenue and Thomas Road.

When police arrived, they were informed that a student had been taken to the administration office for carrying an item that violated school policy. In the office, police found a firearm on the student, according to the report.

The student was subsequently arrested and charged with a weapons offense. Phoenix police have not released any further information about the suspect, including his age.

Nobody was injured.
